Jharkhand Elections: 10 candidates file nomination on last day in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, May 6: 10 independent candidates filed their nomination on the last day for the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat on Monday.

Those who filed nominations today were Md Eklak Ansari, Tulsi Mahto, Nitai Dutta, Hiralal Shankhwar, Md Faishal Khan, Mohan Singh Md Tafajul Hussain, Akbar Ali, Tridev Kumar Mahto and Gautam Kumar Mahto.

A total of 21 candidates including transgender and nominees of both national alliances, NDA, I.N.D.I. A and a regional party have filed nomination papers.

Deputy commissioner (DC) cum district returning officer Madhvi Mishra said that scrutiny of nomination papers will be held tomorrow (May 7) from 11 am while withdrawal of names will be till 3 pm on May 9.

Voting on Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat is scheduled on May 25.

On the occasion of nomination today observer Anup Khijni, deputy commissioner Madhvi Mishra, additional collector Binod Kumar, DRDA director Rajiv Ranjan, and Supply officer  Pradip Kumar Shukla were present.
