Ranchi, March 29: The Ajsu party, a partner in the NDA alliance, has once nominated sitting MP Chandra Prakash Chaudhary to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Giridih. Out of 14 seats in Jharkhand, the BJP is contesting 13 seats.
Dilip VermaMeanwhile, the BJP has fielded Dileep Kumar Verma to contest the by-election in Gandey. Verma is currently the secretary of the BJP state unit.
The by-elections were necessitated after Sarfaraz Ahmed resigned on December 31 amidst a political crisis gripping the JMM-led government. The JMM is likely to field Kalpana Soren, wife of Hemant Soren, in Gandey.
