Ranchi, April 25: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced Kalpana Soren as the candidate for the Gandey Vidhan Sabha by-election.
Kalpana Soren will file her nomination from Gandey on April 29 and the voting will take place on May 20.
Notably, the Gandey seat in Giridih district became vacant after the resignation of JMM MLA Sarfaraz Ahmad.
On December 31, an order was issued by the Assembly Secretariat stating that the resignation of MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed has been accepted.

This seat has been vacant since December 31, 2023.
