Giridih, April 29: Kalpana Soren, the wife of former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, and leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), has filed her nomination for the Gandey Vidhan Sabha by-election. She is contesting as the joint candidate of the INDI Alliance.

Besides Chief Minister Champai Soren himself, other prominent figures who joined Kalpana Soren’s nomination include Shibu Soren’s younger son Basant Soren, Jharkhand government minister Mithilesh Thakur, Congress leader and Jharkhand minister Alamgir Alam, and Banna Gupta.

Kalpana took blessings by touching feet of Dr Sarfaraz Ahmed

Kalpana Soren filed her nomination at the office of the Returning Officer in Giridih Collectorate. Before filing the nomination, Kalpana Soren touched the feet of JMM leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Sarfaraz Ahmed and took his blessings. Dr Sarfaraz Ahmed is also a former MLA of Gandey who resigned from the Gandey assembly seat on January 1, 2024.

These leaders also participated in Kalpana Soren’s nomination

In Kalpana Soren’s nomination, Chief Minister Champai Soren, Congress ministers Banna Gupta and Alamgir Alam, along with Jharkhand government minister Baby Devi, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Majhi, and Giridih MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu, among many other leaders, participated. A convoy of several vehicles reached the Giridih Collectorate. Three cars were allowed inside, while the rest were stopped outside the gate.
