Dhanbad, March 29: Jamshedpur (East) MLA Saryu Roy has demanded that the Election Commission of India (ECI) take cognisance of the audio in which BJP Dhanbad Lok Sabha candidate Dhulu Mahto is heard allegedly threatening Dhanbad Marwari Sammelan president Krishna Agrawal.
Roy, on Friday afternoon, while talking with media persons at Dhaiyya in Dhanbad, said that audio had gone viral on a social media platform where Mahto ( MLA) had threatened Krishna Agrawal.
Krishna Agrawal’s letter
“The reason for the threat given to Krishna Agrawal is the letter to BJP Jharkhand president cum former chief minister Babulal Marandi, in which he has referred to Pt Deendayal Upadhyay, who once said if the party has selected a wrong candidate, it should correct it. Rattled by the letter, Dhulu Mahto threatened Krishna Agrawal,” Roy, who defeated the then Chief Minister Raghubar Das in 2019, alleged.

Fair and free election
The veteran MLA said that the ECI should consider this audio. “If the ECI fails to act on this audio, its claim of a fair and free election will be doubted,” he added.
“The nomination process for the Dhanbad seat has yet to start, but a nominee has begun issuing threats that show the candidate’s character,” he said.
Illegal mining in Baghmara
The Jamshedpur MLA alleged that illegal mining is being done on a large scale in the Baghmara area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). The black money collected from this illegal means would be used in the district’s Lok Sabha election. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) must recognise illegal mining, and BCCL officers should check it immediately.
BJP Dhanbad Lok Sabha candidate and three-time Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto did not receive a telephone call to comment on the allegation of Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy.
