Dhanbad, May 2: A team of Ranchi police on late night of Wednesday arrested three top leaders of the Jharkhand Bhasha Khatiyani Sangharsh Samiti (JBKSS) from their residence in Topchachi, around 40 km away from the district headquarters.
The arrested leaders are Farjan Khan, chief general secretary of JBKSS central committee, Sanjay Mahto and minority cell central committee president Rijwan Krantikari.
JBKSS is a regional outfit
Regional outfit JBKSS of Jayram Mahto has been contesting from Ranchi, Dhanbad, Giridih and Dumka Lok Sabha seats in this election. JBKSS supremo Jayram Mahto is himself a candidate and has filed a nomination from the Giridih seat.
Jayram dodged Ranchi police
Ranchi police arrested Jayram Mahto on Wednesday afternoon just after filing his nomination for the Giridih seat at Bokaro collectorate. Cases are pending against him in Ranchi and other districts.

Since JBKSS leaders Farjan Khan, Sanjay Mahto and Rijwan Krantikari had taken a guarantee that Jayaram Mahto would surrender after the rally, police picked up them at late night. Jayram Mahto is also a resident of Topchachi
When contacted in the morning Topchachi police station officer in-charge Vivekanand Srivastava denied information of any arresting.
Topchachi Panchayat chief
However, Topchachi Panchayat chief Sarwar Khan said that police raided his house at 3 am (Wednesday) and took away his nephew Farjan Khan. “Police did not give a reason for arresting,” he said.
JBKSS vice-president Dipak Rajak alleged that the state government and the central government have been upset from the popularity of Jayram Mahto. Having seen their candidate’s possible defeat, the JMM is getting JBKSS leaders arrested on false charges.
Farjan Khan was arrested from Topchachi Bazar based house and Sanjay Mahto from Chitarpur village.
