Dhanbad, May 9: 25 candidates have remained in the race for the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat and poll symbols were allotted to them on Thursday.

District Returning Officer (RO) cum Dhanbad deputy commissioner  Madhvi Mishra while talking with media persons today at the collectorate said that a total of 28 candidates had filed nomination papers for the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat in which the application of three candidates was rejected in scrutiny.

“Today (May 9) was the last date of withdrawal of nomination paper till 3. PM. But no candidate withdrew his name at a scheduled time. So, a symbol of all candidates was allotted today in the presence of general observer Anup Khinchi.  Nominees of recognised political parties were given their reserved symbol,” said Mishra.
