Dhanbad, Jan 18: A three–day international conference on ‘Advances in in Spectroscopic Techniques and Material (ASTM 2024) began at IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad today.
Experts from across the country and abroad have begun deliberating the usage of advancements in Spectroscopy in solving different issues affecting common people.
Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Barun Ranjan while addressing the conference as a chief guest called upon experts to explore the usage of advancement of spectroscopy techniques in reducing the production cost of solar energy and facilitate health care services in the country through the usage of spectroscopy.
The DC urged the experts to scout for the usage of spectroscopy in controlling pollution or mitigating the effects of pollution. “The production cost of solar power is still higher than the thermal power production. Reduction in the production of solar energy can help to make it more competitive and will accelerate the shift to solar energy,” said Barun Ranjan.
