Daltonganj, Jan 26: Jharkhand Finance Minister Radha Krishan Kishore hoisted the national flag during the Republic Day celebrations at the Police Line Ground in Daltonganj. In his speech, he focused on three key topics of state development.
Empowering Women through Maiyaan Samman Yojna
The minister emphasized that the Maiyaan Samman Yojna is more than just a scheme—it is a powerful and essential tool to further empower women across the state. He highlighted that the primary goal of Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government is to ensure financial empowerment for women.

Strengthening the Rural Economy
Kishore stressed the importance of expanding the rural economy by tapping into its potential for increased milk production and livestock development. He stated that these goals are achievable and must be prioritized. Additionally, he pointed out that while agriculture remains the backbone of the rural economy, its allied sectors need modernization and development to ensure long-term progress.

Promoting Tourism and Preserving Heritage
The minister expressed the need to focus on growing tourism in the region. He specifically mentioned the preservation of the Palamu Quila, which is currently in a state of decay. Kishore reiterated that the Palamu Quila is a national heritage, not just a regional monument for Palamu or Latehar. Protecting this historic site is vital as it represents a national asset.
He also highlighted the Malay Dam, which has recently gained recognition as a hub for water sports.
On Irrigation Efforts
Speaking to The Jharkhand Story correspondent, Kishore addressed why he did not mention irrigation during his speech. He explained, “I am working on it. Let my efforts take concrete shape before I discuss it further.”
Tribute to Raja Medinirai
The minister paid tribute to Raja Medinirai, stating that the king always prioritized the well-being of his people. He assured the public that the current government remains committed to the welfare and development of Jharkhand’s citizens.
