Ranchi, January 17:  For the first time since completing 25 years of statehood, the Government of Jharkhand, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, is participating in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, marking a significant milestone in the state’s global engagement.

Ahead of the forum, the Jharkhand government delegation on Saturday visited and inspected the Jharkhand Pavilion, located within the India Pavilion complex in Davos. The World Economic Forum 2026, scheduled from January 19 to 23, brings together heads of government, business leaders and international institutions to deliberate on pressing global challenges.

Focus on Sustainability and Inclusive Growth

Jharkhand’s participation at Davos will focus on key priority areas, including electric mobility, energy security, environment and forests, bio-economy, and women’s empowerment. Through these themes, the state aims to position itself as a partner in sustainable development, just transition and inclusive growth, while contributing to global conversations on climate action and equitable economic transformation.

Officials said the state’s debut at the World Economic Forum reflects Jharkhand’s intent to strengthen international collaboration and showcase its development vision on a global platform.
