Jamshedpur, Jan 17: A 22-year-old girl committed suicide by self-immolating near her lover’s house at Saldih bustee under the Adityapur Thana area in broad daylight on Wednesday.
The girl identified as Soni Lohar died on the spot writhing in pain at the densely-populated Saldih bustee but no one came forward to save her from being charred to death.
Significantly, the man who had allegedly exploited the girl was a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Bhola Mudi who resides in the same locality as the deceased.
OC Adityapur Thana, Rajan Kumar confirmed about the sensational incident and said that the BSF jawan in question will be arrested as a case under Section 376 of the IPC had already been registered with the Adityapur Thana earlier.

“We will arrest the BSF jawan in question as he is accused in a case registered under section of rape,” he said.
The OC said let them investigate the case completely before taking a legitimate step against the BSF jawan.
Girl filed FIR against lover earlier
The family members and relatives of the deceased are demanding the arrest of Bhola Mudi immediately as he had long been evading arrest despite cheating the victim in the name of living with her.
“Soni and Bhola would love each other. But their relationship turned sour after the youth had refused to marry the girl reportedly under the pressure of his family members. It was only after being refused that the girl had lodged an FIR against Bhola, alleging him to have sexually exploited her on the pretext of marrying her, ” said a relative while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
The police have recovered the charred body of the girl and sent it to the Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem after registering a case of suicide.
