THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi, March 15: Jharkhand Governor-cum-Chancellor CP Radhakrishnan today called upon the students of Ranchi University to follow the footsteps of Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google), Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft), and many others who serve as youth icons in India and abroad.

Successful CEOs

“One day, you may prove your ability like these successful CEOs from our land. Young generations are the most potent agents for transforming society,” Radhakrishnan said during the University’s 37th convocation ceremony.

The governor said success requires hard work, resilience, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities. “Failure is not a setback but a chance to learn and grow,” he pointed out, quoting former President and the “Missile Man,” Bharat Ratna Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Role of knowledge

Underlining the role of knowledge, he said it is necessary for human progress and development. “It empowers us to make a difference, personally and professionally,” he maintained.

He maintained that a university is responsible for preparing a nation’s youth by furnishing them with quality education.

Global leadership

He said that throughout history, the progress of human civilisations attests to the notion that the advancement of any nation hinges upon the competence of its educated populace. “A nation with ambitions of global leadership must boast citizens who are intellectually astute, physically robust, ethically upright, culturally rooted, and spiritually harmonious,” he said.

Praising Ranchi University, Radhakrishnan said it has produced many scholars in the past. “I hope the University continues imparting quality education to its students. The students graduating today will always draw inspiration from our rich intellectual tradition,” he said.

Regional tribal languages

Union Agriculture and Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda said Ranchi University is doing good work preserving and developing regional tribal languages and scripts.

“The efforts made by the university are ideal and exemplary for other universities,” he said.

Munda said the efforts to comply with and promote the new National Education Policy, 2020, are commendable.

He also lauded RU VC Ajit Kumar Sinha and said he is leading the realisation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of ‘Viksit Bharat.’
