Jamshedpur, September 8: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Tuesday inaugurated a state-of-the-art Cath Lab at Netaji Subhas Medical College & Hospital (NSMC&H), Adityapur, marking a significant expansion of advanced cardiac care facilities in the Kolhan region.

The Governor formally inaugurated the facility by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the foundation plaque at a ceremony attended by hospital management, doctors and several dignitaries.

He said such initiatives by private healthcare institutions would help expand access to quality medical services and provide greater relief to people in the region.

“When world-class medical facilities are available locally, patients and their families do not have to travel to major cities or other states for treatment,” Gangwar said.

According to the hospital management, the facility will provide round-the-clock cardiac services, including angiography, angioplasty and pacemaker implantation, besides other complex cardiac procedures.

Singh stressed the importance of timely intervention in heart-attack cases, particularly during the critical “golden hour”.

He said the availability of the facility at NSMC&H would reduce the need for patients requiring urgent cardiac intervention to travel to other cities, potentially reducing treatment delays.

Boost to specialised cardiac care in Kolhan

The commissioning of the Cath Lab is expected to strengthen the availability of specialised cardiac treatment in Adityapur and adjoining areas, allowing patients to access advanced procedures closer to home.

The facility could particularly benefit patients from different parts of the Kolhan region who previously had to depend on larger urban centres for specialised cardiac interventions.

The hospital management said the new facility would further expand its capacity to provide advanced medical services and respond to emergency cardiac-care requirements.
