Ranchi, July 11: The Jharkhand High Court has rejected the bail plea of former minister Alamgir Alam, who is accused of laundering crores of rupees through a tender scam.
The decision comes as a major setback for Alamgir Alam, as the court denied him relief in the high-profile case.

The hearing on his bail plea was held in the court of Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad. Arguments from both the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the defence were completed on June 26, after which the court had reserved its verdict.

Earlier, a special PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court in Ranchi had also denied bail to Alamgir Alam, following which he had approached the High Court seeking relief. However, the High Court too has refused to grant him bail.
