Ranchi, Oct 8: The Jharkhand High Court, while hearing a suo motu case, has directed the Ranchi Municipal Corporation to remove all illegal occupants from government flats built for the urban poor at Madhukam Khadgarha and Rugrdigadha on Ratu Road within one week.

The bench, led by Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, expressed displeasure over the illegal occupation of the flats meant for the urban poor, stating that such occupation may not have happened suddenly but must have been ongoing for a long time, and questioned why the government machinery remained silent and failed to take immediate action.

The court has scheduled the next hearing in the matter for next Tuesday, by which time the Ranchi Municipal Corporation is required to submit its response before the court.
