Ranchi, June 14: Jharkhand Judicial Academy will organise a one-day conclave on ‘Environment, Mines & Mineral Laws’ on June 16.
Justice AK Goel, former Supreme Court judge and ex-Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal, will be the chief guest on the occasion. Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad will be the guest of honour.
Noted environmentalist Sunita Narain, Director, Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi, will discuss how to balance environmental protection and development.
Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay, Justice SN Pathak and Justice Anubha Rawat Choudhary will also be present at the event.
Role of Judiciary in Wildlife Protection
Senior Supreme Court advocate Sanjay Upadhyay will discuss environmental challenges facing the country. He will also discuss the role of the Judiciary in the protection of the environment and wildlife.
Jharkhand High Court lawyer Indrajit Sinha will discuss the Mines and Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act and the concept of bail and release of seized articles/vehicles in cases related to the MMDR Act.
