Ranchi, March 13: Amid concerns over the availability of LPG cylinders in Ranchi, Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri held a high-level meeting to review the supply and distribution of LPG in the district. Officials said strict monitoring will be carried out to prevent black marketing and ensure smooth supply to consumers.
The district administration has appealed to residents to report black marketing or illegal storage of LPG cylinders immediately through the Abua Saathi helpline (9430328080).
Manual Booking Facility Introduced
To address the inconvenience faced by consumers in booking LPG refills, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has introduced a manual booking system for Indane gas consumers.
Officials said the arrangement has been made temporarily because technical upgradation of the company’s server is currently underway, which has caused booking-related difficulties for consumers.
According to IOCL officials, the server requires upgrading due to the large volume of booking requests being received. Once the upgrade is completed, consumers will again be able to book LPG cylinders through the normal online or automated system.
LPG Supply Normal in Ranchi
Officials clarified that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders in the district. Ranchi has around 1.5 lakh Indane gas consumers, and the company continues to deliver around 10,500 cylinders daily, as per the usual supply pattern.
IOCL has also urged consumers not to engage in panic booking, assuring that there is sufficient LPG stock and regular delivery is being ensured.

Meanwhile, several Indane gas distributors in Ranchi have released mobile numbers for manual booking, allowing consumers to call and place refill requests.
