Ranchi, July 22: Jharkhand Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta today inaugurated a burn unit at Devanika Hospital, situated at Tupudana Industrial area.

Bhokta said that the Chairman of the hospital, Dr Anant Sinha, is well-known among the masses. “Devanika hospital will be a boon for a state like Jharkhand where a large section of patients has to run to other states for treatment,” he added.

He also appreciated the aim and intention of the Hospital to address the labour working in hazardous conditions in different industrial units.

Devanika Hospital is designed to cater to  both the poor and affluent: Dr Anant Sinha

Dr Anant Sinha, on the occasion, said that burn cases cannot be addressed only by govt hospitals. “We are committed to impart health care facilities in other cities too,” he added.

He said that Devanika is the only hospital which can cater to all sorts of trauma besides, ortho, neuro, and gastro it also has burns and plastic surgery. He further said that the hospital is designed to cater to the poorest and the most affluent of the society under one roof. “The hospital is managed by doctors themselves hence the quality is of high standards and the cost is reasonable.

“If the government permits, we are ready to support all government programmes like Ayushman Bharat, ESI, CAPF, ECHS and BPL cases,” he added.

The hospital comprises 250 beds, including 65 general beds 70 ICU beds and 17 dialysis beds. Additionally, there are 8 Modular Operation Theatres fitted with cutting-edge technology for precise surgical procedures.

No hospital to take care of labour in Tupudana Industrial area

Dr Sinha also added that till recently not a single healthcare care has come forward to take care of working labour in industrial units as they suffer from different hazardous issues but his hospital will provide services to those labourers. “We will conduct regular OPD services that are mandatory and prescribed by labour laws,” he said and added that the Hospital is set up on the land of an industrial area so we are committed to paying back the community.
