Jharkhand launches ‘Vidhi Portal 2.0’ to digitally transform government litigation management

THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi, July 24: In a major push towards digital governance and efficient legal administration, the Jharkhand government on Friday launched ‘Vidhi Portal 2.0’, an upgraded digital platform designed to streamline the management of government litigation across the state.

The portal was inaugurated by Advocate General Rohitashwa Roy at a function held in the conference hall of the Jharkhand High Court. The event was attended by IT Secretary Pooja Singhal, Law Department Secretary Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, Senior Additional Advocate General Achyut Keshav, and senior officials from various government departments.

Developed under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the upgraded portal is expected to significantly improve coordination among government departments, enhance transparency in litigation management and ensure timely legal action through the use of advanced digital technologies.

Unified digital platform for government litigation

Vidhi Portal 2.0 brings the Law Department, Advocate General’s Office, government departments and government counsels onto a single digital platform, enabling seamless coordination in handling legal cases involving the state government.

The portal offers real-time case monitoring, automated alerts, smart workflow management and advanced analytics, allowing officials to track litigation, monitor deadlines and improve decision-making.

Officials said the platform is aimed at strengthening the state’s legal response while ensuring greater accountability and efficiency in handling court cases.

More than 20 new features introduced

The upgraded version includes over 20 new features to simplify litigation management and improve access to legal information.

  • Integration with the e-Courts system
  • Smart cause lists
  • Daily and weekly case digests
  • Executive dashboard for senior officials
  • Centralised notice management
  • Mobile application for easier access
  • Advanced analytics and workflow automation

The government also plans to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based legal analysis into the portal in future phases to assist in case management and legal strategy.

Boost to technology-driven governance

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate General Rohitashwa Roy said the portal would play a crucial role in strengthening litigation management and ensuring effective representation of the state before various courts.

IT Secretary Pooja Singhal described the initiative as a significant milestone in Jharkhand’s journey towards technology-driven, transparent and accountable governance.

To ensure smooth implementation, the government will conduct phased training programmes for officials and users across departments, enabling them to effectively utilise the portal’s features.

The launch of Vidhi Portal 2.0 marks another step in Jharkhand’s ongoing efforts to modernise public administration through digital technologies while improving the efficiency of government litigation management.
