Jamshedpur, March 1: In a spirited display of sportsmanship and physical fitness, Loyola School’s Junior Section recently hosted the much-anticipated “Fun n Fitness Camp 2k24.”

This three-day extravaganza, held at the school campus, aimed to instil resilience, a love for nature and a sense of sportsmanship among the participating students.

The camp kicked off with invigorating sessions of Zumba, Karate and Yoga, setting the tone for the upcoming physical challenges. The energetic atmosphere reverberated with the Camp Anthem, joyously hummed by the students throughout the event.

As part of the holistic experience, Art and Craft activities were organized, allowing children to express their creativity by crafting picturesque scenes using natural materials from their surroundings.

Thrilling Dalma Hills trek

The pinnacle of excitement arrived on the final day, with a thrilling trek up the majestic Dalma hills.

Father Principal Vinod Fernandes, Father Rector K M Joseph, and Vice Principal, Junior Section, Vineeta Ekka, provided constant encouragement and motivation to the campers, fostering a sense of camaraderie and determination.

Led by experienced trekker Nirmal Pandey and trek supervisor Dale Passagne, each student showcased remarkable physical willpower, strength and mindfulness, especially when encountering wild animals.

The climb was a seamless blend of efficiency, exuberance and ultimate success, leaving the students with a profound sense of accomplishment.

Meanwhile, Loyola School’s Senior Section Adventure Club, under the guidance of Dale Passagne, orchestrated a Dalma trek for 408 students, accompanied by ten volunteers and five teachers.

The adventure not only tested their physical endurance but also aimed at cultivating an understanding of the symbiotic relationship between nature and mental well-being.

Father Principal Vinod Fernandes underscored the importance of physical agility, cardiovascular strength, and cardio fitness, delving into the correlation between muscle training, calorie deficit, and optimal body mass with intellectual and emotional well-being.

The camp concluded on a high note, leaving students eagerly anticipating the next annual adventure.

Loyola School acknowledges gratitude for support

Loyola School extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Abhishek Kumar I.F.S., DCF & Field Director of Elephant Project, Jamshedpur, and the entire Dalma staff for their unwavering support, without which the success of Loyola School’s annual treks would not be possible.

The Fun n Fitness Camp 2k24 proved to be a resounding triumph, leaving a lasting impact on the students’ physical and mental well-being.
