Ranchi, May 25: Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Saturday morning cast his ballot in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

He encouraged voters to focus on development when casting their ballots and urged them to turn out in large numbers to vote.

“My only appeal to the voters of Jharkhand is that you all must come out and vote. I have voted for development. I am always interested in development because it’s the only way to create wealth, which can then be distributed. Nothing will eradicate poverty other than wealth, and wealth creation is possible only through development,” the Jharkhand Governor said.

Sanjay Seth casts vote, appeals for high turnout

Meanwhile, Sanjay Seth, the incumbent MP from Ranchi and BJP candidate seeking re-election, was observed voting in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. He shared that he prayed to Nandi Baba for Prime Minister Modi’s success.

“I sought blessings from Nandi Baba and asked him to make Prime Minister Modi and his vision of ‘Abki Baar 400 Paar’ more powerful,” Seth stated.

He also called on voters to set an example for others by ensuring a high voter turnout in Ranchi.

“I appealed to Nandi Baba to turn Ranchi’s voter turnout to around 80 per cent. I appeal to all residents of the city to come out and vote in large numbers to make Ranchi a role model for the whole nation amid this searing and scalding heatwave,” he stated.

Voting underway at 58 seats across six states and two UTs

In the midst of strict security and preparations, voting for the sixth round of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections commenced on Saturday morning across 58 parliamentary constituencies dispersed among six states and two Union Territories (UTs).

The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections covers eight seats in Bihar, all 10 seats in Haryana, one seat in Jammu and Kashmir, four seats in Jharkhand, all seven seats in Delhi, six seats in Odisha, 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, and eight seats in West Bengal. There are 889 candidates competing in this phase.

The four seats in Jharkhand participating in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections are Ranchi, Dhanbad, Giridih, and Jamshedpur.
