Jamshedpur, Nov 25: A 35-year-old man who was a mason was electrocuted while working on the rooftop of a double-storeyed house in Sankosai under Ulidih Thana area in Mango on Saturday.
Sadique Sheikh came in contact with naked wire
Identified as Sadique Sheikh, the mason was fatally injured while an iron rod he picked up for fixing it came in contact with an 11,000 KV naked wire that passes through the house.
As the man came into contact with the high-tension wire, he was flung apart and became unconscious. He was soon rushed to MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) where he was declared as brought dead.

Used to work with wife
Incidentally, when the mason was electrocuted, his wife Reena was also working alongside him.
A father of five children, Sadique Sheikh resided at Bota village in Patamda and would come to the steel city along with his wife to earn a living every day.
JBVNL engineer confirmed mishap
Executive engineer, JBVNL, Mango division, Sanjeev Kumar under whose jurisdiction the mishap took place confirmed about the incident.
“The fatal mishap took place as the mason accidentally came in contact with a high-tension line during work on the rooftop of a house, ” said Kumar while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

Body sent for postmortem
The police have seized the body and sent it to the MGMMCH mortuary for postmortem.
