Chatra: Mukesh Kumar Bhokta, son of Jharkhand Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta has been selected as a fourth-grade employee for the post of a peon at the Chatra civil court.
Amid reactions from people, Mukesh didn’t take time to confirm that despite his father being a known politician and minister in the Hemant Soren government, he will join this job soon. Satyanand is a minister of the department of labour, employment, training and skill development. He won the assembly election from the Chatra seat as an RJD candidate.
Mukesh (28) and his cousin Ramdev Bhokta had appeared in the interview for the peon’s post. While Mukesh’s name is in the final list of 19 successful candidates, Ramdev figures in the waiting list.

With everyone talking about this now, Mukesh said his father is in politics and a minister. “So, this doesn’t mean that he will also join politics like his father. I also have the right to take the path of my choice”, he said. Mukesh said he got selected for peon and so he didn’t find anything wrong in this. “Once the date for joining comes, I will join the job”, he added.
Interestingly, Mukesh got married to a girl of a scheduled caste (SC) community which many see as a big plan of Satyanand Bhokta to save the Chatra assembly seat, which he is representing for the third time.
Actually, the union government had given scheduled tribe status to the Bhokta community but the Chatra assembly was reserved for scheduled castes due to which Satyanand Bhokta will not be able to contest from here again. This was the reason why he found a match for his third son Mukesh from the SC community. The marriage took place last year in December and Chief Minister Hemant Soren had also come to Chatra to bless the couple.
Out of four sons of Satyanand, elder Binod is in active politics with his father. Second Virendra Bhokta is not in politics but his wife is a police sub-inspector. Third is Mukesh and fourth Sikandar is unmarried and preparing for competitive examinations.
