Jamshedpur, Jan 28: A minor boy was arrested for allegedly stealing ornaments worth over Rs 7 lakhs from a house at Zone No 4 in Birsanagar on January 26.
What is significant is that the police succeeded in unravelling the case within 24 hours of the theft being reported to the Birsanagar Thana on Saturday.
Moreover, the police did not only arrest the thief but also succeeded in recovering all the ornaments that had been stolen.

Accused was routine helper, confessed to crime
Revealing about the breakthrough, additional assistant superintendent of police, Sumeet Kumar Agarwal said that a minor had stolen gold and silver ornaments from the house of Gautam Singh Ray on the Republic Day afternoon when there was no one at the house.
“The boy who had stolen the ornaments was a regular visitor to Gautam Singh’s house for doing petty works. On Friday also, the boy had visited the house, but finding no one at the house as the family members had gone to attend a function somewhere around, he entered into it and took away all the ornaments. Having stolen the ornaments, the boy had kept them concealed in a bush. He was caught on suspicion and later confessed to having committed the theft,” said Agarwal while addressing a press conference today.
The minor was later forwarded to Remand Home after his production before a judicial magistrate.
