PINAKI MAJUMDAR

JAMSHEDPUR, April 4: Jharkhand is set for a weather phase over the next few days, with thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms and strong winds expected in several districts.

April 4–6: Storms intensify, hail likely

On April 4, isolated areas in north-western and central Jharkhand may see thunderstorms with winds of 40–50 kmph.
The situation may worsen on April 5, with hailstorms in north-western and adjoining areas and winds reaching 50–60 kmph across parts of the state.
Unsettled conditions are likely to continue on April 6, with isolated pockets of hail and thunderstorms.

April 7: Hail reduces, winds continue
By April 7, hail activity may decrease, but thunderstorms with 40–50 kmph winds are still expected in some areas.

The weather is being driven by a trough from north Madhya Pradesh to north Vidarbha and an upper-air cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, increasing moisture and atmospheric instability.

Recent reports show light rainfall and thunderstorms, marking the start of this active spell. Residents are advised to stay cautious during lightning and strong winds.
