Jamshedpur, Feb 5: In a major step towards promoting sports and nurturing local talent, Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art stadium at the Kancha football ground of Ghaghidih Panchayat under Jamshedpur block.

This ambitious project, sanctioned under the Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs Department, is set to be completed within a year at an estimated cost of Rs 70 lakh.

The stadium, with a seating capacity of 8,000 spectators, aims to provide world-class sports facilities to young athletes of the region. Addressing the gathering during the foundation stone-laying ceremony, MLA Sanjeev Sardar emphasized the stadium’s role in fostering a sports culture among the youth.

A Boost for Local Talent

“This stadium will bring new energy and golden opportunities for the youth of the area. It will not only provide better training and sports infrastructure but also create a platform for local players to showcase their talent at state and national levels,” said MLA Sardar.

He further expressed confidence that with the right facilities and encouragement, many players from Potka would achieve recognition at prestigious sporting events across the country and beyond.

A Dream Field for Aspiring Athletes

Highlighting the long-term vision behind the project, MLA Sardar stated, “Our goal is to instil a passion for sports among the youth and prepare them for national and international competitions. This stadium will not just be a structure; it will be a dream field, shaping the journey of many aspiring athletes.”

Excitement Among Local Residents and Players

The announcement of the stadium’s construction has sparked excitement among local youth, sports enthusiasts, and residents. A large number of regional citizens, public representatives, social workers, and young players attended the ceremony, lauding the initiative. Many expressed their gratitude to MLA Sanjeev Sardar for spearheading a project that will place Potka firmly on the sporting map.

With this initiative, Potka is set to witness a new era in sports development, paving the way for young athletes to shine and compete on larger platforms. The much-awaited stadium promises to be a beacon of sporting excellence, bringing pride and opportunities to the region.
