Dhanbad, Sept 28: The Dhanbad Rail Division of the East Central Railway (ECR) collected over ₹2.58 lakh in fines during a ticket-checking drive conducted across various stations in the division.

According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr DCM) Md Iqbal, a total of 534 passengers were caught travelling without valid tickets. Among them were individuals travelling without tickets, with unauthorised passes, or carrying unbooked heavy luggage. A total fine of ₹2,58,655 was realised from these passengers.

“The ticket-checking campaign is being carried out regularly across the Dhanbad Rail Division and will continue in the coming days,” Sr DCM Iqbal said.

The divisional officer also advised passengers to ensure they carry valid tickets before entering station platforms and to travel only in the class for which their ticket has been issued.
