Dhanbad, Dec 22: Police have arrested five cyber criminals from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand along with electronic devices from Hotel Maiher under the Bank More police station area in Dhanbad.
Giving details, Dhanbad (City) Superintendent of Police Ritvik Srivastava said the arrested persons have confessed to cheating people through cyber fraud, and multiple cases are registered against them at police stations in different states.

The accused have been identified as Suraj Chouhan (29) of Sector 53, Gautam Budh Nagar, Noida (Uttar Pradesh); Sahil Khan (28) of GB Nagar, Noida (Uttar Pradesh); Biku Saw (26) of Bikramganj in Rohtas district (Bihar); Pintu Kumar Mandal (23) of Ahilyapur, Giridih (Jharkhand); and Basant Kumar Mandal (33) of Bhuli E-Block, Dhanbad (Jharkhand).

City SP Srivastava said police recovered 10 mobile phones, 16 SIM cards of different companies, 38 ATM cards belonging to various banks, Rs 6,000 in cash, a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle, a fingerprint cloning machine and other incriminating materials from their possession.
He said a special police team was constituted under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Naushad Alam, which conducted a late-night raid at Hotel Maiher on Sunday and arrested the accused from a hotel room.

“The arrested persons are being subjected to technical and scientific investigation to ascertain the full details of their organised cyber fraud network and the purpose behind their presence in Dhanbad,” the City SP said.
Bank More police station inspector Praveen Kumar and other police officials were also present during the briefing.
