Dhanbad, May 28: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Dhanbad wing arrested Rajesh Kumar, a Rojgar Sevak, on Wednesday while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from an MNREGA beneficiary in Jamua block, Giridih, located about 25 km from the district headquarters.

According to ACB officials, Rajesh Kumar was caught red-handed in the Sakardiha area of Jamua block between 11:30 am and 12 noon.

He had demanded Rs 5,000 from the beneficiary to process the beneficiary’s MNREGA payment.

The beneficiary reported the bribery demand to the ACB Dhanbad team. After verifying the allegation, the officials arranged for the beneficiary to approach Rajesh Kumar with the bribe money.
As soon as Rajesh Kumar accepted the amount, the waiting ACB team arrested him on the spot. The team then took him to the block office and conducted a search.

A Jamua block official stated that the Block Development Officer (BDO) had transferred Rajesh Kumar to Tikamgaha Panchayat about a month ago, but he had not yet reported for duty.
