SUBHASH MISHRA
Dhanbad, Dec 4: Patients visiting AIIMS Deoghar will soon have access to dedicated public transport services from various points in the district, easing their commute to the hospital.
Deoghar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vishal Sagar has instructed the District Transport Officer to arrange transportation facilities for patients travelling from Jasidih Railway Junction, Deoghar Bus Stand, and other key locations within the district.
Deoghar AIIMS is located in Devipur block, approximately 10 kilometres from the district headquarters and 8-9 kilometres from Jasidih Railway Station.
Patients, especially those from economically weaker sections and remote areas, face significant challenges in reaching the hospital due to the lack of direct public transportation.
Current travel options include shared autos, which charge ₹40-50 from Jasidih and ₹70-80 from Deoghar city, posing a financial burden on poor patients.
