Dhanbad, Oct 25: In a significant administrative reshuffle, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Manoj Kumar Agarwal has transferred the General Managers (GMs) of eight out of the company’s 12 colliery areas.
According to the new order, Piyush Kishore, GM of Barora Area, has been posted to Govindpur Area, while Ganesh Chandra Saha, GM of UG Siding, has been transferred to Putki Balihari Area.
Raj Kumar, previously GM of Katras Area, has been moved to the headquarters as GM (Quality Control), and Sudhakar Prasad, earlier in charge of Quality Control at headquarters, will now serve as GM of Katras Area.

Similarly, Bastacolla GM Anil Kumar Sinha has been assigned to Lodna Area, while the Kusunda GM has been transferred to Bastacolla Area. Lodna Area GM Nikhil B. Trivedi will now head the Kusunda Area.
Tuneshwar Paswan, Additional GM of Bastacolla, has been moved to East Jharia Area. Meanwhile, Govindpur GM Kishore Kumar Singh has been posted to Barora Area.
In other changes, Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as GM (Quality), and Nandeshwar Ray, Chief Manager (Mining, HRD), has been transferred to Putki Balihari Area as Additional General Manager (AGM).
Official sources said the reshuffle follows heavy production losses suffered during the monsoon. CMD Agarwal, who took charge on August 31, is reportedly focused on meeting the production targets set by Coal India Limited (CIL) for the upcoming fiscal year.

For 2025–26, Coal India has set a target of 46 million tonnes for BCCL, up from 45 million tonnes in 2024–25. However, the company managed to produce only 41 million tonnes last fiscal year, prompting the new leadership to take corrective measures.
