Jharkhand News: Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s great-grandson passes away

Ranchi, Nov 29: Mangal Munda, the great-grandson of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, has passed away. He succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident and was receiving treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.

His brother, Kanu Munda, announced the news on Facebook, stating that Mangal Munda took his last breath late Thursday night.

Mangal Munda, who sustained critical injuries in the accident, passed away from cardiovascular failure.

Mangal Munda was injured in an accident on November 25 on the Khunti-Tamar Road and was referred to RIMS Ranchi on November 26 in critical condition.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his condolences on Friday over the passing of Mangal Munda.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Shri Mangal Munda ji, a descendant of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, who was undergoing treatment at RIMS. May Marang Buru grant peace to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this difficult time of grief,” Jharkhand CM posted on X.

रिम्स में इलाजरत भगवान बिरसा मुंडा के वंशज श्री मंगल मुंडा जी के निधन की खबर से अत्यंत दुखी हूं।

मरांग बुरु दिवंगत आत्मा को शांति प्रदान कर शोकाकुल परिवारजनों को दुःख की यह विकट घड़ी सहन करने की शक्ति दें।

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar also shared his condolences on X.

“The news of the demise of Mangal Munda, a descendant of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda is extremely sad. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. May God give strength to the bereaved family to bear this sorrow. Om Shanti!” the Jharkhand Governor posted on X.

धरती आबा भगवान बिरसा मुंडा के वंशज मंगल मुंडा के निधन का समाचार अत्यंत दुखद है। शोकाकुल परिवारजनों के प्रति मेरी गहरी संवेदनाएँ। ईश्वर शोकाकुल परिवार को इस दुःख को सहन करने की शक्ति प्रदान करें।

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren went to RIMS and inquired from the family members about the health of Mangal Munda who was admitted to Trauma Centre and Central Emergency of RIMS.

The chief minister obtained information related to his ongoing treatment from the doctors and directed them to provide all necessary facilities along with better treatment.
