Jamshedpur, Nov 18: Bike-borne criminals created terror at Prakashnagar under the Govindpur police station area on Sunday night.

At around 10 pm, three bike-borne criminals opened fire outside the house of one Naveen Singh, a local resident and fled the spot.

The bullet pierced the iron door and entered the wall. As soon as he got information about the incident, Naveen informed the Govindpur police.

Police recovered a shell from the spot and started investigating the case. Naveen Singh said that at the time of the firing, he thought that it was the sound of a firecracker.

But, later when they saw a hole in the wall and searched the house, a bullet casing was found. After watching the footage of the CCTV camera installed outside the house, the incident of firing by the criminals was captured.

The reason could be a dispute related to business rivalry, said police.

Naveen Singh runs an ice cream business. He said that for the last few days, there was continuous theft from his ice cream vehicles.

Two days ago he caught the thieves, who turned out to be his old staff. Showing humanity, they released him, but they suspect that perhaps the firing was done to avenge this incident.

Govindpur police are conducting a forensic investigation and took the CCTV footage.

According to police, an investigation is underway to identify the culprits and they will be nabbed soon.
