Jamshedpur, Sept 26: Cracking down on organized vehicle theft, Mango police have dismantled a professional bike-lifting syndicate, arresting five notorious offenders and recovering seven stolen motorcycles.

Those in custody have been identified as Jumman, Syed Mosin alias Vicky, Kadir Khan, and Ayan alias Chhoti.

The arrests were executed under Mango PS Case No. 240/2025, dated September 25, 2025.

According to police, the gang had been orchestrating thefts across multiple jurisdictions for an extended period.

Their operations stretched into Mango, Azadnagar, Kadma, MGM area, Sakchi, and Bistupur police station areas, with several cases already registered against them.

City SP Kumar Shivashish, addressing the media on Friday, remarked that the arrests mark a decisive blow to the city’s escalating bike theft menace.

“The accused are habitual offenders facing multiple serious charges. Their capture will bring a tangible decline in two-wheeler thefts and reinforce a sense of security across Jamshedpur,” he asserted.

The accused have been remanded to judicial custody, while investigators continue probing to unearth the network’s remaining operatives.

Officials believe the breakthrough will act as a deterrent, curbing further thefts and ensuring safer streets for residents.
