Jamshedpur, Feb 20: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jamshedpur office, is participating in the three-day mega exhibition, Radiant Jharkhand, which kicked off today at Ramada Hotel. This landmark event, running from February 20 to 22, 2025, is set to showcase India’s achievements, commitment to high-quality standards and opportunities for youth.
The event offers free entry to the public, running daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Jamshedpur MP, Bidyut Baran Mahto, who expressed his excitement about hosting such a grand event in Jamshedpur for the first time.

“We wanted the people of Jamshedpur to have a close look at the opportunities present in the country. The exhibition features a diverse range of exhibitors, from medicinal plants to aviation industry manufacturers,” said Mahto.
In his address, Mahto also took a keen interest in understanding the significant role BIS plays in improving product quality, boosting Indian exports, and contributing to the nation’s vision to be a developed nation by 2047.

The BIS stall, a key highlight of the exhibition, drew large crowds, particularly engineering students, who were eager to learn about the various standards endorsed by BIS and their impact on both domestic and international markets. Many students, previously unaware of standards, expressed curiosity about the benefits of purchasing BIS-approved products.
Kunal Kumar, Director and Head of BIS, commented, “It’s a privilege to be part of such a significant event, alongside other major players in India’s economic landscape. We are delighted to engage with the public, especially college students who represent the future of this country. Talking about standards in a public forum such as this is a step toward building greater awareness.”
Nearly a thousand students visited the BIS stall during the first day. The officials at the stall showcased BIS’s commitment to quality standards and highlighted BIS’s role in promoting a culture of quality consciousness across the nation.
Organized by Visual Myths, Radiant Jharkhand aims to raise awareness about the welfare schemes run by the central government, provide information on educational and employment opportunities for the youth and highlight developmental initiatives undertaken by the government. The exhibition is also celebrating the rich cultural heritage and handicrafts of Jharkhand.
