Dhanbad, Dec 6: The Department of Chemical Engineering at BIT Sindri, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC 8.0), organized a special seminar on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for Engineering Design.
Distinguished alumnus Dr. Rajesh Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Kanpur, was the chief speaker. He delivered an insightful lecture on the fundamentals of CFD, its industrial relevance, and its significance in modern engineering design.

Dr. Ranjan highlighted how CFD-based simulations have become a powerful tool in research, innovation, and product development, aiding the creation of new solutions and startup ideas in engineering and technology. He encouraged students to explore its applications across aerospace, manufacturing, energy systems, and emerging disciplines.

The seminar saw participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students. An interactive discussion followed the presentation, during which students asked questions about practical applications, career opportunities, and innovation prospects.
Dr. Amit Kumar Gupta, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, presented a token of appreciation to Dr. Ranjan, expressing gratitude for his valuable contribution and for inspiring the students.
