Dhanbad, April 27:  The Light Sindri chapter of BIT Sindri students today held a programme, ‘Ballot Brilliance,’ at DAV Public High School Tasra to make students aware of the importance of elections and voting rights.

‘Light Sindri’ is a creative organization of IIT Kharagpur. For the first time, its BIT Sindri chapter organized a programme to make students aware of the importance of elections and the right to vote through a quiz contest and an essay competition.

Questions related to elections

In the quiz, questions were related to the elections, while the subject matter of the essay was also related to the polls.

The members of Light Sindri said that the objective of this programme was to tell children about the importance of poll and its process. Hundreds of students of the school participated in both the events, quiz and essay competitions and showed deep knowledge and interest in the ongoing election festival of the country.

“This programme was organized for the students of class 7th to class 10th. During the programme, the students showed keen interest and presented impressive performances. After the programme, certificates and prizes were distributed among the winners by the Light Sindri chapter,” said members of the organizing committee.

DAV Public High School Tasra

The organizer said the DAV Public High School Tasra principal and teachers also played an important role in making the quiz contest and essay competition successful. The school principal highly appreciated the steps of BIT  Sindri technocrats ( Light Sindri members) in organizing an informative programme in his institution to enhance students’ knowledge.

LiGHT Sindri’s centre Coordinators Satyam Gupta and Shruti Roy congratulated the  core team members for making the programme successful and announced  that ‘Ballot Brilliance’ will be organized in other schools of the region too for awareness of students about the election.
