Dhanbad, Dec 19: The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC 8.0) of BIT Sindri officially launched its website during a function held at the BITS–TEXMiN Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) Centre of Excellence.

IIC Chairman, Prof. Prakash Kumar, shared that the website aims to familiarize students and faculty members with innovation-driven initiatives, startup support mechanisms, and opportunities for industry–academia collaboration.

“The newly launched website will serve as a centralized digital platform, providing detailed information on programs, events, fellowships, and various innovation-focused activities organized by the IIC,” he said.

He also encouraged students to actively engage with IIC activities and leverage platforms like the BITS–TEXMiN CPS CoE to convert their innovative ideas into practical technological solutions and startups.

Prof. Kumar highlighted major IIC programs at BIT Sindri, including the Texcelerate Startup Fellowship, which offers ₹2 lakh per year to five teams, and the UDAAN Fellowship Program, providing ₹10,000 per month to 10 students annually.

Prof. R.K. Verma, Dean of Students Welfare, emphasized the IIC’s critical role in fostering an innovation-oriented mindset among students and in transforming the institutional culture from producing job seekers to nurturing job creators.

The inaugural function also featured addresses by Centre of Excellence In-Charge Rajesh Das, Prof. Arvind Kumar, Prof. Rahul Kumar, Prof. Meenu Manjari, and Prof. Priyanka Kumari.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Rahul Kumar, with a large number of faculty members and students in attendance.
