Jamshedpur, July 9: BJP leader Devendra Singh on Tuesday led a delegation that met the deputy commissioner Ananya Mittal and submitted a memorandum demanding steps for identifying Bangladeshi infiltrators here in Jamshedpur and its adjoining areas of the district.

While meeting the deputy commissioner, the delegation pointed out that though the commissioner of Santhal Pargana has set up a committee for identifying the Bangladeshi infiltrators there having got specific instruction from the Jharkhand high court recently, a similar inquiry committee must be set up by the East Singhbhum district administration as thousands of Bangladeshi nationals are staying here having obtained fake identity as Indian nationals.

The delegates stressed that the illegal staying of Bangladeshi infiltrators, who do work mainly at building construction sites are not only eating into the resources of the country but are posing a great danger to our nation.

Significantly, Devendra Singh said that this was the third time that the Jharkhand High Court instructed the state administration to identify the Bangladeshi infiltrators with the latter doing nothing to honour the high court order.

“Perhaps the state administration is unable to identify the Bangladeshi infiltrators as the latter are equipped with Aadhar cards, Voters I-cards even Ration-cards to show themselves as Indian national. Thus beyond this, the administrative officers must do anything else keeping the political aspect of the exercise very much on their mind, ” said Singh while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

He observed even the step taken by the Santhal Pargana commissioner might be a formality just to show to the high court.

Singh who is also a senior advocate pointed out that if the administration concerned has any problem in identifying the Bangladeshi infiltrators, then it may go for a verification of the burial records of forefathers of the suspected infiltrators.

“Followers of Islam do never tamper with the burial records. Let the suspected infiltrators divulge about their forefathers and where have they all been laid to rest. Everything will be clear like crystal. Moreover, there is TMC government in Bengal’s Murshidabad “the alleged home district” of all such infiltrators. Bengal police will not turn down Jharkhand police request for burial records verification,” observed the BJP leader.

Singh pointed out there are over two dozen builders who are harboring Bangladeshi infiltrators as the latter do work as excellent masons at a very low rate.

“Moreover, the BJP is always ready to help the administration in getting the Bangladeshi infiltrators identified and deported so that the docile and innocent tribal women may be prevented from being fallen victim to the infiltrators and our district can be a safer place to reside in,” said the BJP leader, adding that the sooner the administration understands this the better.
