Jamshedpur, April 6: The very theme of this year’s World Health Day 2024 elucidates the significance and its importance.
To celebrate the foundation of the World Health Organisation, doctors of Brahmananda Narayana Hospital Jamshedpur today said that one should be aware of his or her role as well as right towards health.

Dr Kalyan Kumar, consultant- General Medicine and Diabetology, Brahmananda Narayana Hospital Jamshedpur said one should be well informed and equally educated towards his disease and its progress.

“One and all is entitled to access the quality and essential health services. It needs to be ensured that the treating and the working environment are acceptable,” said Dr Kalyan Kumar.
To prioritise the disease and conditions as per this year’s theme needs to be highlighted, he stressed adding that awareness regarding vaccination particularly papilloma vaccination is very important apart from prioritising the newer screening programs related to cancer.
Awareness, education and prevention
He went on to say that prioritising safe and clean drinking water is a must.
The senior doctor further said, “Awareness, education and prevention – the three pillars to be restored and strengthened. Awareness regarding skin and related risk factors, education regarding disease and three levels of prevention – primary, secondary and tertiary. Interventions at different levels of prevention focus on primary prevention where your health needs to be promoted and specific protection related to the risk factors are very important.”
