Jamshedpur, April 23: In a story of perseverance and skill, 23-year-old Dev Krishna Suman from Gosaidih village in Bundu block of Ranchi district has secured an international placement in Hong Kong, highlighting the transformative power of vocational training.

From Modest Roots to Big Dreams

Dev, son of schoolteacher Budheshwar Gorai and tailor Shobha Devi, grew up in a modest household where education remained a priority despite financial constraints. A meritorious student, he was among the top performers in the Jharkhand Board examinations in 2018.

Facing financial challenges, Dev began teaching local students while continuing his studies at St. Xavier’s Inter College. Managing two batches of nearly 30 students each, he supported himself while building confidence, discipline and leadership skills.
