Daltonganj, June 13: Newly elected Chatra Lok Sabha BJP MP Kalicharan Singh has his priority set right before taking the oath of membership of the 18th Lok Sabha.

The BJP leader has a down-to-earth approach to the problems and does not believe in making false promises.

He said, “It’s high time for all of us to save water. Management of surface water is very life-saving.”

Water for individual and ‘khet’

Kalicharan Singh further said, “The management of water is for the twin purposes. It is first for the drinking water and then for the irrigation. Water for the individual and water for the khet (agro field). That we will be striving hard to reach.”

The MP designate said, “There are storages of water. But where is the water? Where does the water get leaked or wasted?”

Kalicharan Singh was very critical of how the state drinking water and sanitation department handled the ‘Nal se Jal’ scheme.

Nal se Jal is in mess

The MP designate said, “The executive engineer, drinking water and sanitation department, has made a mess of the Nal se Jal scheme. It is in a state of disrepair. The pipes are broken. Water stand posts are dull.”

Kalicharan Singh added, “Nal se Jal is a central scheme. Tenders are done for it. But the executing agency does not care a fig for it. Water that should have been within every household’s reach is still too far away. The role of the executive engineer of the drinking water and sanitation department is very questionable.”

He agreed that all Nullahs (streams) be revived. Some streams have become silted or have outlived.

Water streams are to be revived

The MP designate was frank enough to tell this correspondent that he believed this coming rainy season we all should be looking for the water streams like how these water streams are, whether their catchment area is clogged or whether their path or base is silted.

“We will strive hard to restore the water streams depending on the flow and rush of the water,” he added.

Palamu district BJP president Amit Tiwary said, “The Chatra MP designate was on a thanksgiving mission to all the people of the Panki assembly constituency for ensuring victory for the BJP in the Chatra Lok Sabha seat.”

Amit Tiwary said, “The MP designate is committed to work on the welfare and developmental works for the people of the entire Chatra Lok Sabha constituency under which comes the Panki assembly constituency too.”

Veterans of the BJP namely Shyam Narain Dubey, Bipin Bihari Singh, Narender Pandey and others were present in the circuit house Daltonganj during Kalicharan Singh’s word of gratitude to the people of the Chatra Lok Sabha seat.
