Daltonganj, June 7: Which of the five assembly constituencies in the district of Palamu is electorally safe for either the Congress or the JMM to contest in the coming Assembly election due this November or December?
The Daltonganj assembly constituency has already a two-term BJP MLA in Alok Chourasia. He is doing fine but he can’t be sure if the party high command may trust him for the third term too.
Veteran BJP MLA Ramchander Chandravanshi
Bishrampur’s assembly constituency has a veteran BJP MLA Ramchander Chandravanshi. His age is his stumbling block as he is seen in Palamu as a political weather scientist like that of late Ram Vilas Paswan.
Chhaterpur assembly constituency which is a SC seat has a first timer BJP MLA Pushpa Devi. She is struggling there with no work to her credit for doing in her constituency as such to reinforce her claim to contest a second term.
BJP sources confirm there is no political cordiality between Chhaterpur BJP MLA and the BJP MP here.
Panki assembly constituency
Similar is the case with the Panki assembly constituency where is Dr Shashibhushan Mehta who wears saffron more than even any hardliner BJP politician.
Hussainabad Assembly constituency has Kamlesh Kr Singh, an NCP MLA of Ajit Pawar camp who is with the BJP.

For the Congress or for the JMM, the electoral space is limited. They have men to fight but winnability is missing.
The BJP is all around. All four assembly constituencies here for the Palamu Lok Sabha seat and one assembly constituency for the Chatra Lok Sabha seat voted vehemently for the BJP resulting in the victory of the BJP in Palamu and Chatra.
Surging BJP
The Congress and the JMM just stood mute to the surging BJP in both the Lok Sabha seats, Palamu and Chatra.
The BJP would like to have a repeat of it in the assembly election, just five months away from now.
The preparedness of the BJP is far ahead of the Congress and the JMM. These two parties are struggling within.
It would be fatuous to assume that the BJP is not a formidable force. It is formidable and again in the coming Vidhan Sabha election the BJP may face challenges of different kinds.
Its Chhaterpur assembly constituency is in a mess. So is the Panki assembly constituency for different reasons.
If at the Chhaterpur assembly constituency, there is a problem of political sedation for the BJP, just reverse is the situation in the Panki assembly constituency where radicalisation has taken root.
The BJP may like to have a few replacements here in the Palamu district as it can’t afford to lose even one seat here.
Bishrampur assembly constituency is all set for a new face of the BJP. Again, the BJP will have to find a winnable face for the Hussainabad Vidhan Sabha seat too if it does not go well with the coalition at the centre.
BJP has plans A and B
The BJP has plans A and B. It was seen in this Lok Sabha election. It exited its two-term MP Sunil Kr Singh from Chatra while it retained its Palamu candidate Vishnu Dayal Ram for a third term and Ram didn’t disappoint the BJP at all.
The BJP may do this in the Vidhan Sabha election here too. The AJSU is there with the BJP and it will be no surprise if it stakes claim to one seat here.
