Daltonganj, November 24: Veteran Congress leader and former minister K N Tripathy is again in news. This time it’s for his ‘as per his claim’, personal safety and security.
Unexpected Warning Halts Visit
Former minister K N Tripathy said he couldn’t go to Mandal on Sunday as he was asked by a masked Adivasi youth on the road to Mandal to return barely two kms away from Mandal under Latehar district.
Tripathy further said, “I wanted to know more but the youth asked me to act fast on what he had told me to do. Go back. Danger is lurking there at Mandal for you.”

“I started returning when a four wheeler of my two vehicle carcade got punctured,” Tripathy added.
“I saw a pick up van loaded with iron bars coming from the opposite direction. I asked the man at the wheel Wasim to rush me to Morway, a mid point between Barwadih and Mandal,” Tripathy said.

Police Escort and Safe Return
Sources said the SDPO Barwadih and police reached Morway before the arrival of Tripathy there by the pick up van.
“I was taken down to security camp at Morway where I was offered tea. Police officials were very cordial and cooperative there,” he said.
Tripathy reached his Daltonganj house with security cover.
This correspondent spoke to Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav.
“The matter is under investigation. We are looking into it. The Barwadih police was well monitoring his tour,” said Latehar SP.
Withdrawal of 2 Bodyguards and Unanswered Questions
It’s more than two months that under orders of the police headquarters, two armed body guards of Tripathy have been withdrawn for some reasons which Tripathy claimed were imaginary and unreal like it’s alleged he had hit his bodyguard which he has been refuting since day one.
“I wonder as to why I have been so left unprotected when I move around day and night and visit tough areas like my this trip to Mandal on Sunday when I was to meet people of Kutku village there which is a ‘doob chhetra village’ (submergence village) if and when the Mandal dam gets operational,” Tripathy said.
Tripathy was himself baffled as to why he faced this forewarning ahead of reaching the Mandal site.

Possible Link to Road Project
The Jharkhand Story Network has been informed that 22 or 24 km stretch of Barwadih Mandal road is to be rebuilt which has a very plum estimate running into crores and probably the external elements might be around there to exert pressure on the agency that is to build this road for commission or levy and in the meanwhile this man Tripathy was found moving towards the Mandal site.
