Jamshedpur, Dec 18: D.B.M.S English School celebrated its Annual Sports Day on Wednesday at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The venue was a vibrant tapestry of colours, with flags fluttering and the air resonating with excitement.
Students from the school’s four houses—Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue—demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship and determination, their faces brimming with anticipation for the day’s events.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Vibhuti Dhand Adesara, Head of Sports Events and Training Centres at Tata Steel Ltd., along with members of the school managing committee. Principal Rajani Shekhar, Vice Principal P.K. Sahu, and coordinators from various levels added to the occasion’s grandeur.

The day commenced with a March Past led by Commander-in-Chief Tamanna Bose. The school senate, including Head Boy Yuvraj Sethi and Head Girl N. Vidisha, marched alongside house captains and vice-captains in perfect unison. The National Squad, comprising students who excelled at the CISCE National level in sports, volleyball, swimming, and chess, also received a special mention.
A series of captivating drills followed, starting with the Circle of Unity by students of Std. V, symbolizing the strength of togetherness. Std. VII presented Building Bridges Through World Peace, a pledge for global harmony, while Std. II’s Blazing Fury umbrella drill added a splash of colour and artistry. The students of Std. III energized the field with their Basketball Blitz drill, and a Karate performance showcased discipline and skill.
The sporting events saw participation across all levels. The day culminated in the announcement of winners: Red House emerged as the overall champion. Green House won the trophy for Best March Past.
Individual Champions: Primary Level: Ranesha Dutta (Std. IV D), Sub-Junior Level: Sufiyan Khan (Std. VI C), Junior Level: Md. Ayaan Altamash (Std. VII D) and Senior Level: Ayushi Kumari (Std. XI D)
