Dhanbad, Aug 2: Deoghar became the first district in Jharkhand to have set up a breastfeeding AC room and play space in the collectorate office for a baby of female staff.

Deoghar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vishal Sagar while inaugurating the ambitious welfare rooms for the staff working in the collectorate said that women staff, who work in the collectorate, have also a small baby. “During the working period, they need to take care of them also,” he added.
Comfortable situation for female staff: DC
“Keeping this in mind breast feeding and play rooms have been set up in the collectorate for their convenience. Now mother staff can breastfeed their infant in a comfortable situation (separate room) without any hesitation and can look after them freely without any tension,” said the deputy commissioner.

On the occasion, the DC also distributed toys, tiffin boxes, spoons, plates and Cerelac (baby food) to the babies who had come with their mothers.

Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Deoghar Navin Kumar, SDO Madhupur Ashish Agrawal and other senior officers were also present at the inaugural function.
The breastfeeding room has been decorated with a recliner chair, air conditioner, attached washroom and other required infrastructure.
Women staff laud DC’s step
Female staff of the collectorate highly appreciated the project of the deputy commissioner and said that they had been facing an embarrassing situation in the office while feeding infants. Now, they would do it without facing any embarrassment and it would help her to do quality performance, they added.
