Dhanbad, July 23: Anand Sharma, the supporter of BJP MP Dhulu Mahto, was arrested on Tuesday and sent to jail in connection with the July 11 incident in which a woman and her family members were badly beaten up in Chitahi under the Barora police station area.
On the written complaint of victim woman Neera Devi, the Barora police lodged a named FIR against 11 persons, including BJP Dhanbad MP Dhulu Mahto and 12 other unknown persons.
FIR lodged after CM’s intervention
The incident happened on July 11 but the FIR was lodged on July 12 after Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the police to take action.

Neera Devi alleged that she and family members were beaten by Dhulu Mahto’s supporters as her husband Doman Mahto had gone to the MP, MLA Court, Dhanbad in a case as a witness against the MP.
Neera Devi alleged that Dhulu Mahto has been trying to forcibly occupy her land near his Ram Raj Temple near Chitahi for which her husband and other family members are fighting. On July 11, the MP supporters also destroyed vegetable crops on her land besides thrashing her.
Arrest sword over Dhulu Mahto
Since, one of the accused out of 11 has been arrested now arresting sword is hanging on the newly elected MP, who is also a named accused.
The dispute with Bokaro Superintendent of Police (SP) Pujya Prakash has already landed the BJP MP in trouble who is out of the district due to ongoing Parliament session.
