Dhanbad, March 19: Dhanbad lad Kumar Vishvesh got All India Rank (AIR) one in production engineering in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination 2024.
Vishvesh is a BIT Sindri alumnus
Kumar Vishvesh, a 2015- 19 batch BIT Sindri Production Engineering department student, works at National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Nabinagar, Aurangabad, Bihar.
Over 20 BIT Sindri students crack GATE
Official sources in BIT Sindri said that this is the first time a student of the institution has received a top rank on the GATE examination. Though more than 20 students from different batches received prestigious ranks in the 2024 examination, Kumar Vishvesh was the first student to become a topper.

Since he is a resident of Dhanbad, BIT Sindri Production Engineering Department has resolved to facilitate this achievement.
Prof Prakash Kumar, head of the production engineering department, gave this information.
Vishvesh’s parents live in Dhanbad. Since he is likely to come during the Holi festival, department members have decided to felicitate him on campus during that period.
AIR 01 in Production Engineering
“Vishvesh has achieved an extraordinary feat by securing AIR 01 in Production Engineering and AIR 38th in Mechanical Engineering! His dedication, perseverance, and remarkable talent have brought him well-deserved recognition and set a shining example for all of us in the engineering community, Prof Prakash Kumar, head of the Department of Production Engineering BIT Sindri, said.
Prof Prakash said on behalf of the Department of Production & Industrial Engineering, he extended heartfelt congratulations to Kumar Vishvesh for his outstanding achievement.
“His success inspires aspiring engineers everywhere, showing that anything is possible with passion and perseverance. His journey ahead will be filled with even more incredible accomplishments,” he said.
In his congratulation message to Kumar Vishvesh, Prof Prakash also advised him to prepare for civil services. Sources said the Dhanbad lad is interested in ONGC.
