Dhanbad, Jan 8: Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Madhvi Mishra assured that both the state and district administrations are fully committed to the protection and welfare of the transgender community.
Speaking at the All India Transgender Community Convention, she highlighted the central and state governments have established a dedicated cell for the implementation and monitoring of third-gender rights.
Madhwi Mishra emphasized the importance of transgender individuals being informed about their rights.

“State government and district administration are committed to ensure equal behaviour, equal rights and equal opportunity to transgender community members with all,” she said, urging the community to actively engage with these rights.

National Convention in Jharkhand
The All India Transgender Community Convention, held from January 2 to 8, saw the participation of approximately 5,000 transgender individuals from across the country.
This historic event marked the first time the convention was hosted in Jharkhand, and DC Mishra praised the achievements of the transgender community globally.
Dhanbad DC Madhvi Mishra praised the transgender community, stating that their achievements worldwide are setting inspiring examples and motivating others to strive for excellence.
“So whatever you learnt in this national convention must emulate that in your life,” she encouraged the attendees.
Recognition for District Administration’s Support
During the convention, transgender society members expressed their gratitude toward the district administration for providing support and facilities. They honored DC Mishra by presenting her with a Shaul and a memento as a token of appreciation.
District Social Welfare Officer Anita Kujur and Child Protection Officer Sadhna Kumari also participated in the event alongside the DC.
