Dhanbad, June 11: The Dhanbad District Olympic Association (DDOA) will organize a series of mega sports events on June 23 to commemorate Olympic Day.

The announcement was made following a meeting held at the conference hall of Doon Public School, Koylanagar, where representatives from all affiliated sports associations of the district were present.

Each association has been directed to host competitions in their respective disciplines at different venues across the district on Olympic Day.

DDOA General Secretary Ranjit Kesri stated that all affiliated bodies have been instructed to prepare proposals for their respective events and submit detailed blueprints to the DDOA by June 15.
“A follow-up meeting will be held on June 16 to review all proposals and finalize the venues and event schedules,” Kesri added.

Those present at the meeting included DDOA President S.M. Hashmi (former General Secretary of the Jharkhand Olympic Association), Senior Vice-President Zubair Alam, Vice-Presidents Kiran Rani Nayak and Arvind Kumar Singh, Treasurer Pawan Barnwal, Additional Secretary Manoj Sharma, and Joint Secretary Tarak Nath Das and others.
